Ingredients
  

  • 1 can 15 oz crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon sugar optional, balances acidity
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, onion powder, sugar, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  • Simmer uncovered for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Let cool slightly before spreading on pizza dough.
