Ingredients
  

For the Chicken:

  • lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Teriyaki Sauce:

  • ½ cup soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • ¼ cup brown sugar or honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water

Optional Garnishes:

  • Sliced green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions
 

  • Season chicken lightly with salt and pepper.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook chicken for 6–7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer.
  • Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened, about 2–3 minutes.
  • Return chicken to pan and coat thoroughly in the sauce.
  • Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
